Old Town Tatu  |  Old Town Tatu - Myspace »

Step into the colorful confines of Old Town Tattoo and get ready for some KICK ASS ink . . . Although it might not be the only thing that gets under your skin here!!!! Goose pimples may start to crawl up your arms even before you ever see a needle, for the parlor was a booming fully operational funeral home. Dating back to the late 1800s, this architectural gem was formerly Klemundt Funeral Parlor, serving the living (& the dead) of Chicago's Old Irving Park for nearly 75 years. This was, of course, the perfect spot for Rich "Tapeworm" Herrera. In 2003, he opened ODIN TATU, named for his son. He was happy to find a new home after many years of slaving away in shitty shops around the city. Unfortunately Rich's dream was cut short. He passed in 2006, leaving a son, a family, and friends his legacy. The shop re-opened with the help of some close friends, and Odin is still a regular here (often asking for temporary tattoos). The Windy City's best place to get ink is now "Certified" Haunted by Weird Chicago, and is a regular stop on Chicago's Ghost Tours. If this place once made the dead look good, just think what it could do for the living! But shall no demonic or wicked spirit enter your body here. The friendly, outgoing, and experienced staff will make sure their artwork comes to life when they cover your flesh in Japanese, Traditional, Custom, Gray-Wash, and New School tattoos. Be sure to stop on by 3313 Irving Park Road for an AWESOME tattoo - and maybe even a spiritual encounter!!
