Sean Adams began his tattoo career in Mattoon, IL (bagel capital of the world), at the tender age of ten. Interest in tattoos sparked by classroom doodles on hands and forearms had led Sean to attempt to tattoo an over trusting stepbrother. Late one Saturday night, jacked up on Mountain Dew and the thrill of experimentation, he administered his first tattoo using a straight pin and graphite. Despite a sincere effort, the results were less than perfect, leading Sean to abstain from further amateur tattoo ventures.
A few years later and after having begun a college career in art, Sean began apprenticing under Hardly Famous Money Mike and Little Frank at "It's Just a Little Prick Tattoo co." in Decatur, IL, then moving on to "Altered Egos" in Champaign. It was there that he began finding his artistic voice, developing an interest in colorful, illustrative tattoo styles (i.e. dinosaurs in spacesuits). He also creates art in mediums such as watercolor and oil. Consistently, he finds inspiration in lowbrow and illustrative contemporary art styles, along with expressionism and the floral motifs of art nouveau paintings and architecture.
Currently, he can be reached at Old Town Tatu Thursday through Tuesday. Wednesdays he can typically be found harassing pigeons in the park, and he smells like old cheese. If found, do not approach him or make eye contact, and proceed with caution.
